With a population of only 3,300 people, you might think that this small town would be off the radar of travelers looking for their next destination. But if you’ve ever heard of the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline, then you know that Valdez is actually a hot spot for tourists. Valdez is located on a wedge of flat land on the north shore of Port Valdez, a deep-water fjord, and is a 305-mile road trip east of Anchorage and a 364-mile drive south of Fairbanks. With so much to offer visitors year-round and throughout every season, there’s no excuse not to check out this amazing town!
